Hope Church is a daughter church of Grace Church in Middleburg Heights, part of the larger family of The Christian & Missionary Alliance (C&MA) which has 20,000 churches around the world. Grace Church celebrated their 50th anniversary in 2008 and continues to grow and impact the greater Cleveland area. In the fall of 2007, Grace Church had a vision to start a daughter church in Brunswick to reach northern Medina County.
In April 2008 Dr. Gordon F. Meier (former superintendent of the Central District of the C&MA) and Rev. Jim Garber (former Minister of Worship at Northmar Church in Warren, OH) were selected to be the pastoral team to provide leadership for Hope Church. Pastor Gordon and Pastor Jim both moved to Brunswick and in March 2009 began holding weekly prayer meetings on Thursday nights at the Meier home and weekly classes on Sunday morning at Grace Church. A group of approximately 50 families began attending these meetings and sharing the vision for Hope Church.
In June 2009 Hope Church purchased a building at 1905 Pearl Rd. as a ‘ministry center.’ The 13,150 sq. ft. building houses offices, a multi-purpose room for worship and fellowship, nurseries, and classrooms.
The official ‘grand opening’ launch of Hope Church took place on Sunday, September 20, at 10:00 a.m. in the Performing Arts Center at Brunswick High School.
Our new building will be ready in March 2010. Come join us to work on the new building every Saturday morning. Here's Pastor Gordon covered in insulation dust!
